Update

Here is a brief update of what the students are working on at the moment.

AM: Students are working on their Energy Transfer Device (due Tuesday, March 29th) and have just begun a research task about Exploring Different Cultures.

PM: Multiplication/Division tests are being written this week. We are also beginning the Measurement unit. Lesson 1 is focused on telling time on analogue clocks and determining elapsed time. You can test your son/daughter this weekend for fun by asking them time related questions. (Sample:You are travelling from Toronto to Montreal by train. If the train departs Toronto at 11:30 a.m. and arrives in Montreal at 4:56 p.m., how long will you be on the train?)

Persuasive paragraphs have been marked and handed back. We have now begun the Narrative unit and are analyzing short fiction pieces.

Photocopied material of Theme 3 in Religion is being sent home today for those that were away the week before the March break.

Theme 3 Fully Alive

We will be moving onto Theme 3 next week of the Fully Alive religion unit. It will include some mature subject matter, such as the male and female reproductive systems, human fertility and the physical, social and emotional changes of puberty. A note has been sent home describing the themes that we will be exploring in a little more depth. Please sign this form as consent for your child to be involved in these discussion blocks.
If you would not like your child to be included, you may opt out by writing a brief note on the back of the sheet.
If your child will be away next week, I will send home photocopied material with them after the March Break.

Thank you!
